Boracay Island's water rides

We were tired from our long travel a day before this plus the endless walking along all 3 stations. But it didn't stop us to wake up early and be ready to experience some-of-the-must-try-activities in the island. We're so lucky to get a good promo for this day's activity- banana boat ride,  fly fish ride, helmet diving, ATV ride, and island hopping  for only  P1,300 each pax. We grabbed the promo then and there coz it's cheaper. During our stroll we happened to ask the cost for each ride, we're informed that each of those mentioned is worth P300 and P1,500 for the island hopping alone. Now you may do the math how much we had saved for getting that promo.

Join me here as I laid out our activities for this day.
The red speed boat brought us to where the customized boat for fly fish and banana boat stationed.

I'll be sharing some of our pictures for this adventure but sad to say our helmet diving pictures until now were not yet transferred from the CD to the computer.

Banana Boat
Everyone's all smile while riding the banana boat. Actually this ride was just a warm up to prepare us for the fly fish ride.

Fly Fish. I'm so hesitant to ride this since I'm scared if I'll fall. For someone like me who doesn't know how to swim, my fear is not baseless. But then again, this adventurous side of me don't know how to say no. I'm happy I did it though, it's a must try.  Enjoy our pictures below. The whole ride is full of fun, believe me!!!
That picture above  showed that it just landed from it's fly. You've got to hang on so tight so you won't fall. I zeroed out all my energy for this ride. Kinda scary but suuuper fun.
The one driving the red speed boat tagging the fly fish won't stop unless one will fall. And yes I was the lucky one who fell to the water.

Island hopping. After flyfish riding we were fetched by a small boat to tour the island. You can see a lot of small small boats with passengers fishing, sun bathing and then some stopped for a certain spot to do snorkeling.
The island is crowded everywhere may it be at the sea or by the shore.
I was amazed looking at these 2 guys selling frozen bars and buko. Only in the Philippines indeed!!!
It's an extremely fun experience. Boracay is love!!!

Boracay at night

We arrived Boracay at around 9:35pm last Aug.3. No single minute wasted, we immediately explored the place along Stations 1 to 3. Boracay is screaming with extreme energy.  Despite the windy ambience,  everyone's inarguably having fun. Tireless people walking, laughing, partying, eating and taking pictures are the constant scenario of the place. Here are some of our pictures taken during our arrival at Bora port and during our stroll along all 3 stations.

If you want party by the beach, Boracay is the right place for you.  There are numerous bars and restaurants you could choose from; Italians, American and Indian cuisines  to name a few and there's buffet dinner also where you could feast all types of sea foods you drool the most.

One more thing I've noticed also is that the place is safe, police patrol is on standby in the corner.

More on this trip on my next post.

Boracay, a dream no more

Hearing about Boracay, first thing comes to mind is EXPENSIVE. I thought stepping Boracay's famous white sand will just remain a dream. But last Aug 3, 2012 it became a reality. To realize this dream it takes time and a lot of patience.  Together with my travel buddies we waited for a promo flight to get a discounted round trip ticket. We have Cebu Pacific Air to thank for this, they made life of a budget traveler quite easy. As long as you have the patience to wait for the intended travel period,  your desired places will be a dream no more.  Actually, we booked this flight (Cagayan de Oro to Ilo-Ilo City) last Mar 2012 so it means we have to wait for almost 5 months. We didn't mind the long wait for it means we have ample time to save money for the said trip and find enough choices for an affordable hotels.

Our flight was an hour delayed, we landed Ilo-Ilo City several minutes past 4pm last Aug 3. Upon arrival we  rented a van going to Caticlan for P4,000 (one way only). Immediately left Ilo-Ilo City at around 5pm, safely arrived at Tabon port in Caticlan around 9:30pm , just few minutes before the boat departed going to BORACAY ISLAND. Yebbah!!! At exactly 9:35pm we finally stepped our dream island's sand. (yes the island is just 5 minutes away from Caticlan)

We then took a cab going to our already booked hotel, refreshed for a while and then started strolling the Island by night.

Boracay also means endless walking,  I didn't mind my "uber" sore feet though. It's super tiring yet fun. You will  be entertained with a lot of things  while walking  - you get to see people from various nationalities walking in opposite directions, people partying, crowded bars, restos,  fire dancers, sidewalk vendors here and there, promo girls  for massage, henna tattoo, hair braiding, island activities among others  and many many more.

Stay tuned  with my coming posts about this trip. So excited to share it with you.

Happy 1st Anniversary

I know I'm not a pro in writing. I'm a self confessed reader of anything from books to novels and obviously blogs that I've come across the internet- this is a secret no more to those who know me.  Blog hopping is somehow a part of my daily routines, never a day passed without me reading blogs of my many favorite bloggers.

It took me a while to succumb to blogging for reasons that I'm not a writer and I don't even know what entry to post if ever I'll have one. My love to travel is the sole reason why I created my very own blog.

When I decided to have a blog, I had a hard time naming it and was even confused which free blogging site will I register. Honestly, I can't count anymore how many blog sites I've registered before I ended here in wordpress.

Till now, I still can't believe that my first ever post led to a year of many other posts. Yeah, you read it right, my haven, the Traveler's Haven turns 1 year this month. When I started this, I didn't know if I can maintain and continue updating. I have my restless feet to thank for why my blog is still running and hopefully will continue it's run in the next coming years. It's my travel that inspires me to post entries. I don't have much followers but I always get giddy upon seeing someone unknown likes my post.

Thank you to my few readers for taking time to read my craft, to all my friends and colleagues who took time to read and even post my blog link to their own site, and to my anonymous guest blogger thanks a lot (when will I get your next entry?).  To HIM up there, thank you for the blessings and the the gift of love all the time. Ohh boy, I sounded like a FAMAS winner here giving a thank you speech. But seriously from the bottom of the four chambers of my heart I humbly say thank you for being a part of my blog.
